This is the end, my only friend the end.....

So this is how is has turned out in the end. I have really enjoyed this project and I hope that I have made the most of it. With any luck I hope I'll be ok. I'm happy with what I have done and I think thats a step in the right direction.

So this is what I have. They are my  flower phones. Made from brown clay and wire. I constuctured these to resemble a gramophone but with a twist. Introducing the gramophones already organic looking horn to a transformation into a fully blown flower. I think is made the transfer rather well.

I want this to represent both the movement in music and sound which was initial idea and my growth of plants and flowers idea with is a movement in itself.

Hopefully I have successed in this task and everyone will understand where it is that I am coming from.

Thanks for reading. Laura

musical moves

Keeping with the movement through flowers. Here I used tea stained sheet music to create my musical flowers. These are like the ones I made from the paper record parts, but I think that the sheet music give them more movement.

Bettlebum

Sticking with my flowers, here we have layered paper in a couple of different colours. I think this works well. My initial idea here is that if you stair at this long enough it looks a bit like movement. As it is a gramophone-flower the colour movement is me trying to animate the movement of sound from a gramophone horn.

These pieces here are made from different pieces of paper that were originally paint on plastic that i drew into and made into records or what looked like records. These flower records are an expansion on the flowerphone. This in my opinion are still very much to do with the sound and record movement. I really liked making these and didn't think they would come out this well.

Flowerphones....

Haven't been able to blog for awhile but here are some pictures of the last things that I finished up before the holidays....

These are pictures of a collage I did. I made a gramophone from alot of small gramophones that I had drawn and then photocopied in black and white. I really like this I think its one of my favourite pieces.

Here we have my gramophone garden. Its my gramophones transformed into strange plant like creatures. There are some made from ears, eyes and mouths while others are made into flower like beings. Here I can see the transfer from mechanical to organic life. The movement here is the growth and movement of the organic or plant life. Also I would like to express the movement of music through a gramophone while using these flower-phones as a capsule in which to convey the movement.
