Print

So my first elective was print which I was looking forward to doing. I hadn't done any printing in my first semester so I was interested in how this would go.
 Our project brief was on our personal space. So after careful consideration and a mind map I decided that what I wanted to do was something based on spaces that people occupy during their lives. So I started with a crib, then a bed and then a coffin. I thought I would expand on this and make have it include the womb and afterlife or something to that affect. But I thought I would be making too much work for myself in the short amount of time that I had to do this all. So I stuck to the three crib, bed and coffin.

These are the three images I chose they have been ecthed into acetate here and I put them on a black piece of paper so that they would stand out more for the picture. Unfortunately this was all I got done within the week along with prints of them as I ended up having to miss the second week of print which was very annoying.






Along with these prints I wanted them to be framed with photos from these different stages of my life and also to have pictures of me in my different beds. I thought it would be interesting and sentimental to have as a little project sadly I didn't get to carry this out.

 So these are the pictures of me and my family. I wanted to show the unity of space shared by more than one person. How these spaces affect each person.

I would not be the person that I am if not for the space I was raised in, exposed to and belong to.

As we grow we each being to inhabit a new space which shifts and changes us further still.

Electives

So we started our electives a week after we came back from our Christmas break and unfortunately I am very far behind on my blog posts because after my first week of print I had a death in my family so I missed the second week of print and therefore I have kind of messed up all my schedule. So I am only now getting around to starting my blogging about electives....
We each had to pick three disciplines to try out so I chose print, sculpture and  vis com. I was really looking forward to starting the elective weeks.
